With a focus on our responsibility as a Higher Educational Institution, our endeavor has always been, and shall continue to be, to strive for sustainability in our various spectra of performance – be it quality education, learning opportunities, global education, partnership for the goals, civil society partnerships, cultural heritage, clean water & sanitation, steps to reduce waste and waste management, energy efficiency, producing affordable & clean energy, non-discrimination, gender equality, responsible consumption and much more.
The need for sustainability today is so exorbitant that every step towards achieving it looks miniscule. But eventually, it’s these small steps that will make a difference and help create a sustainable future, so every step counts!
Innumerable activities at CHITKARA UNIVERSITY, involving faculty, workforce, students as well as other stakeholders, are channelized towards sustainability. The Centre shall serve as a nucleus for all the ventures, projects and activities initiated and aimed towards a sustainable tomorrow. These activities could be within campus, collaborations with industry or other institutions and or with the community. The Centre shall coordinate with all schools / departments to perform various activities related to sustainability.
The Centre of Excellence for Sustainability at Chitkara University is constituted for finding a balance between eco-friendly practices while maintaining efficiency and productivity, without sacrificing the performance and goal of the University.
