COUNSELLING CELL
“Emotional Well-being is as important to us as Breathing Is”
“Strength of your Mind Determines the Quality of your Life”
Chitkara University is dedicated to the emotional and mental health support of its students and faculty. We understand the challenges that come with academic pressures and personal growth. To support this, free counselling services are available to all students and faculty members.
Our Counselling Cell provides a safe, confidential space to address personal issues, stress, anxiety, academic pressures, and other mental health concerns. We aim to improve emotional resilience and ensure a balanced academic and personal life for our students and staff. This service aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3), promoting healthy lives and well-being.
We cater to concerns such as:
- Personal relationships
- Emotional conflicts and anxiety
- Social adjustments
- Family and friendships
- Academic and career challenges
- Personality development
“We at the Student Counselling Cell assure our students that we stand by them through transitions, guiding them towards a bright and progressive future.”
The Counselling Process
- Personalized Attention: Around 250 individual sessions, some involving sensitive cases, are held, with close follow-ups for about 20% of these cases.
- Professional Techniques: Evidence-based approaches like RE-CBT, MBT, and solution-focused therapy help address mental health needs.
- Group Sessions: Engaging, interactive sessions on topics like stress management, emotional regulation, and resilience are organized to build community and mental well-being.
- Proactive Initiatives: At the start of the semester, we introduce students to our services and organize campaigns to reduce stigma around mental health.
Confidentiality Our counsellors follow strict confidentiality protocols, ensuring all discussions remain private unless further intervention is required.
