CycleAssist is an innovative attachment system that converts standard bicycles into wheelchair-compatible tricycles, providing an affordable and versatile transportation solution for wheelchair users.

This project is a collaborative effort between the Centre of Excellence for Sustainability and the Department of Mechanical Engineering (CUIET). The idea was presented by the Centre of Excellence for Sustainability to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (CUIET), and together, students and faculty members of Department of Mechanical Engineering (CUIET), contributed towards bridging the gap between able-bodied and special-abled individuals. Key features of CycleAssist include universal compatibility, easy installation, enhanced stability, and portability. It significantly improves mobility and access to healthcare, social activities, economic opportunities, emergency response, and rural areas. While addressing challenges like compatibility and safety, future developments may include electric assist and smart features. CycleAssist offers a cost-effective way to enhance independence and quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities.
